Colonel Scott Rowe is the commander of the 18th Operations Group, 18th Wing, Kadena Air Base, Japan. He commands nearly 900 people in nine squadrons and 80 F-15, KC-135, HH-60, and E-3 aircraft valued at more than $4 billion. The 18th Operations Group performs all 18th Wing flying, as well as aeromedical and combat rescue missions, in support of U.S. and allied interests.

Colonel Richard C. Tanner is Vice Commander, 18th Wing, Kadena Air Base, Japan. The 18th Wing, the largest combat wing in the U.S. Air Force, provides the Commander, U.S. Pacific Command, trained and equipped tactical air superiority forces, combat search and rescue forces, command and control platforms, aeromedical evacuation capability, and global mobility resources for contingency operations. The wing flies the F-15C, KC-135R, HH-60 and E-3 aircraft. Additionally, the wing provides the 5th Air Force commander a responsive staging and operational air base with integrated, deployable, forward-based airpower.

18th Wing CCC CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT MICHAEL R. DITORE

Chief Master Sergeant Michael R. Ditore is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 18th Wing, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Chief Ditore serves as the installation's senior enlisted liaison between the 18th Wing and enlisted personnel from five other Air Force major commands and joint partner units. Chief Ditore is the principal advisor to the commander and senior staff on operational matters and issues affecting the morale, welfare, safety compliance, and effective utilization of more than 6,000 total force personnel.

Col. Paul Oldham is the Commander, 18th Mission Support Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan. The 18th Mission Support Group is the largest group in the U.S. Air Force with a direct budget of $15 million, service revenues of $18 million, and 3,700 military and civilian members comprising five squadrons. The group is also responsible for the operation of the Okuma Recreation Facility on Okinawa as well as the Bellows Air Force Station Recreation Facility in Hawaii.

Nacho COLONEL TONY S. LOMBARDO

Colonel Tony S. Lombardo is the Commander, 18th Maintenance Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan. The 2,400 Airman group supports all 18th Wing taskings as directed by the Commander Pacific Air Forces throughout PACAF and Fifth Air Force. The group maintains combat capability for 80 assigned F-15, KC-135, E-3 and HH-60 aircraft. The group includes two aircraft maintenance squadrons that provide the only combined air refueling, combat rescue, air battle management and F-15 air superiority assets in the Asian and Western Pacific theater of operations and two maintenance squadrons directly responsible for flightline and in-shop support.

Colonel Robert Grainger COLONEL R. SCOTT GRAINGER

Col. Scott Grainger is the Commander, 18th Civil Engineer Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan. He leads the Air Force’s largest Civil Engineer unit comprised of 1,600 military, US and Japanese civilians supporting the 18th Wing, and 30 partner units. He is responsible for providing engineering, utilities, fire protection, disaster preparedness, environmental protection, and explosive ordnance disposal for over 35,000 personnel as well as critical war-fighting and peacetime contingency capabilities in support of humanitarian, natural disasters and Air Expeditionary Force deployments worldwide.

Col Kirby COLONEL JASON T. KIRBY

Colonel Kirby is the Commander, 353d Special Operations Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan. Most recently, he was the National Defense Fellow to the Atlantic Council, Washington DC. He previously commanded the 524th Special Operations Squadron, Cannon AFB, NM. Col Kirby is a command pilot with over 3,100 flying hours in the C-146A, Do-328, MC-130P and C-130E. He has led 225 U.S. personnel supporting coalition counter-terrorism operations as the Commander, Joint Special Operations Air Component (JSOAC-Africa).
