The Air Force will release the names of those selected to the highest enlisted rank, chief master sergeant, on the Air Force Personnel Center's public Web site and on AFPC's "Ask" site Nov. 13 at midnight.

The new selectees at Kadena Air Base will meet at the Rocker NCO club for breakfast Nov. 13 with the chiefs. They will also meet with the wing commander, group commanders and group chiefs for breakfast at the wing conference room Nov. 14 at 7:30 a.m. To recognize the chief selects, there will be a formal 'Icebreaker' Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the NCO club open to their families and friends.

Air Force officials selected 520 of 2,415 eligible senior master sergeants for promotion to chief master sergeant at a selection rate of 21.53 percent. The average score for those selected was 661.90, with an average time in grade and time in service of 3.47 and 23.06 years respectively, and 24.34 for decorations. The average score was based on the following point averages: 135.00 for enlisted performance reports, 68.09 for the Air Force supervisory exam and 383.60 board score.

Those selected for chief master sergeant will be promoted according to their promotion sequence number beginning in January.

As a reminder, the selections are tentative until the data verification process is complete, which is no later than 10 days after the promotion release date. AFPC officials will notify Airmen, via military personnel sections, if their selection is in question.

The virtual promotion release is one of the many technological initiatives AFPC has taken to deliver personnel services via 24/7 Web-based personnel information. For more information, visit the enlisted promotions page on AFPC's "Ask" Web site. Airmen can also call the 24-hour Air Force Contact Center at (800) 616-3775.
