35 base E-7's selected for second highest enlisted grade

Thirty-five Kadena Air Base master sergeants were recently selected for the second highest enlisted grade. They are:

Hedman, Daniel G. Hoffart, Anthony W. Johnson, James A. Keiler, Andrew R. Kemp, Steven P. Kenney, Ryan L. Lathrop, Jeffrey Leemon, Delano A. Lucas, Keith A. Massa, Brian L. Mcdonald, Jeffrey G. Mcdonald, Michael J. Paquin, Joseph A. Preusser, James A. Purkey, Anthony E. Rondone, William C. Schell, Valarry Smith, Thomas Stiles, Edward L. Teninty I, Raymond E. Turner, Kenneth E. Walker, Curtis B. Williams, Johnny H. Williams, and Devalle D. Wright.

The Air Force selected 1,284 for promotion to senior master sergeant this cycle from 14,404 considered, for a 8.91 percent select rate.

The average score for those selected was 672.67 with an average time in grade and time in service of 4.54 and 20.47 years respectively. The average score was based on the following point averages:
-- 134.99 for enlisted performance reports;
-- 33.17 for time in grade;
-- 21.43 for time in service;
-- 21.23 for decorations;
-- 68.99 for Air Force supervisory examination; and
-- 392.86 for board score.
