Airmen from Kadena Air Base, Japan, gather around a rusted Type 96 Imperial Japanese Navy 25mm dual-purpose anti-tank/anti-aircraft gun Jan. 8, 2015, on Iwo To, Japan. The island was previously known as Iwo Jima and was the battleground of the largest assault in U.S. Marine Corps history, lasting 36 days and having more than 26,000 Japanese and American casualties.
