One year later, 18th Wing remains vigilant against COVID-19

From left, U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Gordon, and Maj. Scott Davis, both 18th Wing Current Operations medical cell representatives, update medical accountability information for personnel, while Maj. Alexander Ford, (in the background) 18th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron integrated operational support team chief, checks email guidance related to COVID-19, Feb. 26, 2021, at Kadena Air Base, Japan. The CUOPS cell examines data relevant within the last 24 hours to present and assists in planning Kadena’s response efforts based on viral trends and data, bringing fresh perspectives and out-of-the-box thinking to problem-solving. Additionally, CUOPS works with the Future Operations cell as well as with sister services across Okinawa to share and collect information about restrictions, trends, and analysis data.
