Return of the Raptors Return of the Raptors

Twelve F-22A Raptors are at Kadena as part of a three-month deployment in support of U.S. Pacific Command's security obligations in the Western Pacific. The F-22As, part of the 27th Fighter Squadron, are deployed from Langley Air Force Base, Va. This is the second deployment of Langley-based Raptors to Kadena; the first occurred in February 2007. The Raptors will spend the next several months conducting air combat training alongside Kadena's F-15s and will work to integrate with all of the aircraft assigned to the 18th Wing as well as other U.S. military services.

Meet the Raptor
KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 18th Wing and the 27th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron hosted "Meet the Raptor Day" Jan. 30, 2009 to allow military members, Japanese employees and their families an opportunity to see the F-22A up close, talk to pilots and maintainers and learn more about the Raptors' mission in the Pacific. Raptors begin training with 18th Wing 
KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- F-22 Raptors took to the skies here Jan. 14 as the 27th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron began flight operations with the 18th Wing. The Raptors will spend the next several months conducting air combat training alongside Kadena's F-15s and will work to integrate with all of the aircraft assigned to the 18th Wing as well as other U.S. military services.

Raptors return to the Pacific
KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Six F-22 Raptors arrived at Kadena Air Base Jan. 10 and another four arrived Jan. 12 as part of a three-month deployment in support of U.S. Pacific Command's security obligations in the Western Pacific.
