About Kadena

Kadena Air Base is the hub of airpower in the Pacific, and home to the 18th Wing and a variety of associate units. Together they form "Team Kadena" -- a world-class combat team ready to fight and win from the Keystone of the Pacific.

Nearly 18,000 Americans and more than 4,000 Japanese employees and contractors make up Team Kadena. The base's estimated economic impact upon Okinawa's economy is more than $700 million annually.

We all come from different backgrounds. We all have our own stories. We all had our stories intertwine here, in basic training. Remember where we come from and why we are here. Check out this video, #TeamKadena, and be proud of what you have become.
The only constant is change. Check out some of the changes with AFI 36-2903.

Did you know that you can play hockey on Okinawa? Service members and civilians of all four branches of the U.S. military played against Team Okinawa during the Haebaru Tournament last Sunday at the Southern Hills Ice Arena in Haebaru Town. Team Okinawa proved skill and speed can overcome sheer size and power with an 11-2 victory over the Sniperz. For more information about ice skating and hockey, contact military liaisons Patrick Baker at patrick.j.baker44.mil@mail.mil, or Marvin Floer at marvin.f.floer.mil@mail.mil. アイススケートおよびアイスホッケーに関してのご質問は米軍の調整係パトリック・ベイカー(patrick.j.baker44.mil@mail.mil)またはフロアー・マービン(marvin.f.floer.mil@mail.mil)までお問い合わせください。
The Kadena Language Institute hosted its 21st annual English Contest for elementary and junior high school students. Col. Thang Doan, 18th MSG commander, attended as one of the judges.
