Native American Heritage Month celebrated during November

An observer at the Native American Heritage Month kick-off breakfast reads placards of Native American veterans at the Officers Club on Kadena Air Base, Japan, Nov. 5th, 2013. There are more than 18.5 million Native Americans in North America. NAHM is celebrated to recognize those cultures and educate the public about their heritage, history, art and traditions of the American Indian and Alaska native people.
