SERE teaches Combat Survival Training course
U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Kenji Scouton, NCO in charge of survival, evasion, resistance and escape operations with the 18th Operational Support Squadron, guides a group of aircrew members through the halls towards a van at Kadena Air Base, Japan, March 18, 2021. During this portion of the combat survival training course, the aircrew members are blindly led and yelled at by the instructors to fully simulate a realistic scenario. Although they’re told during the day what the night exercise will consist of, the theatrics and gruffness of both instructors makes it easy for the aircrew members to become fully immersed in the exercise.
