Airman 1st Class Ashley Lefler takes the temperature of every item on the line before the food is served and periodically throughout the meal at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Aug. 15, 2007.  Keeping the food at the proper temperature ensures all military members receive hot and fresh food every time they eat at the dining facility.  The Marshall Dining Facility serves three meals to more than 1,000 U.S. military members daily.  Airman Lefler is from the 18th Services Squadron.

Army Private 1st Class Christopher Litzner skillfully carves a swan from an apple to be used as a decoration for the food lines of  Marshall Dining Facility at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Aug. 15, 2007.  Making garnishes help the cooks maintain their showmanship and turns the feel of the dining facility into that of a nice restaurant.  The Marshall Dining Facility serves three meals to more than 1,000 U.S. military military members daily.  Private Litzner is from the 1-1 Air Defense Artillery Battalion and works side-by-side with 18th Services Squadron Airmen.
