Colonel JUSTIN W MORRISON

Colonel Justin W. Morrison is the Commander, 18th Civil Engineer Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan. In this capacity, he leads the largest civil engineer organization in the U.S. Air Force, comprised of over 1,600 personnel, enabling decisive air and cyberspace capabilities in support of U.S. interests, the defense of Japan, and peace and stability throughout the Indo-Pacific. Col Morrison manages an annual operating budget in excess of $120 million, oversees all planning, design, construction, sustainment, and protection of over 5,000 facilities and related infrastructure, and serves as the executive agent for the largest military family housing operation in the Department of Defense. Additionally, he supports a population of nearly 18,000 Americans and more than 4,000 Japanese through the delivery of essential installation services to include environmental management, fire protection, aircraft crash and rescue, explosive ordinance disposal, disaster preparedness, and incident management.

Colonel Morrison was commissioned in 1999 upon graduation from the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Portland and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Colorado. He has commanded civil engineer squadrons in the Pacific and Europe and has held a variety of base civil engineer positions, headquarters staff positions, and served as an instructor at the United States Air Force Academy.
