Airman 1st Class Michale Smith, 18th Logistics Readiness Squadron First-Term Airman Center student, holds his arm still as U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Jun Villanueva , hospital corpsman from the U. S. Naval Hospital Camp Lester, puts the needle in his arm during the blood drive on Kadena Air Base, Japan, June 27, 2012. The blood drive begins with registration, vital signs, screenings, bag issue, phlebotomy/blood donation and donor recovery with lunch provided. FTAC students receive a briefing prior to donating blood that determines their eligibility to donate blood. The Armed Services Blood Bank Center supports those serving in the Pacific and insures the donated blood is available for the Pacific operational mission, active-duty members, their family and Department of Defense personnel.
