In today's work environment, most people are always learning new skills and techniques in order to stay current with the ever-changing, high-tech machines and upgrades in technology.

It is important to be able to learn new and better techniques in order to advance professionally.

One way for units stationed overseas to learn new techniques is by inviting their host country counterparts for a day of professional and cultural exchange. The 18th Dental Squadron hosted Kadena Air Base's Okinawa host nation dental providers March 27.

The half-day seminar kicked off with a mission brief, greeting and a dental clinic facility tour. During the tour, host nation providers were able to exchange information in the field and ask questions of the Kadena Dental Clinic system.

For the off-base dentists it was a way to see and learn how the on-base system works and get new ideas from the care providers. It was also a way for members of the Kadena Dental Clinic to exchange medical ideas with their Okinawan counterparts and show them their dental facility system.

By sharing and exchanging ideas and technology, this event gave both dental providers more beneficial information so they can provide the best service to their customers.
