Arrival of new Command Chief

Chief Master Sergeant Michael J. Warner will join Team Kadena as the new 18th Wing Command Chief. Chief Warner will arrive in December and assume his new duties Jan. 1, 2009. Chief Warner currently serves as the command chief for the 100th Air Refueling Wing, Royal Air Force Station Mildenhall, England . As command chief, he will advise the commander on issues and concerns affecting enlisted members and their families. Chief Warner grew up in Denver, Colorado. He started his military service in the United States Army Reserve as an infantryman in 1984. He then entered the Air Force in March 1987. His background includes duty as a security specialist, a First Sergeant, and Commandant of the Kisling NCO Academy. The 18th Wing's former command chief, Chief Jack Johnson, became the Command Chief of 3rd Air Force, Ramstein, Germany.
