KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson visited Kadena Air Base Feb. 1 and 2, 2018, for the first time since taking the position.
Secretary Wilson met with members across the installation to discuss her priorities of readiness, innovation and modernization, as well as listening to their ideas and how they do their jobs.
“I really enjoyed getting out to the flightline and talking to all the Airmen about what they’re doing,” Secretary Wilson said. “Being briefed by so many of the units here was a very varied and fast time. I got to see a lot and hear a lot from the Airmen about what they do and how they’re staying ready to fight at any time.”
After experiencing and learning about the missions being accomplished by all of Team Kadena, Secretary Wilson expressed her pleasure with how the Airmen conducted themselves.
“I just really appreciate the Airmen here at Kadena who are taking the time to become ready,” Secretary Wilson said, “Always being ready, always honing your skills, always strengthening your team and always taking care of the Airman who’s next to you.”
