Each of the U.S. military branches partnered with members from Okinawan government agencies and emergency services for a periodic table-top exercise at the Schilling Community Center here Dec. 4.

The event was the eighth exercise based on a similar scenario between the U.S. military and Okinawan officials designed to ensure the two countries work well together in the event of a U.S. military aircraft incident in the local community.

During the exercise, participants simulated a U.S. military aircraft crash in Okinawa city and discussed civilian injuries, the notification system and rescue activities.

Roughly 70 people, including officials from the Okinawa Prefectural Police, Okinawa City Fire Department and all U.S. military Services participated in the training.
