The 18th Wing is working its way toward meeting its monetary goal of $451,000 for the Combined Federal Campaign.

As of Oct. 16, Kadena led all Pacific Air Forces bases with $142,733 in donations toward this year's $451,000 campaign goal.

Kadena organizations have held several events to kick-start the fundraising drive in the right direction including the Monster Mash Half-Marathon last weekend that raised $475 and a 10K RuckMarch Sept. 19 that raised more than $400.

As with any donation drive, the CFC had hit its initial surge propelling the 18th Wing to a great start, but donations continue to come in at a steady pace, said Capt. Jennifer Palko, 18th Wing CFC manager. "People all across the wing can donate either through their unit CFC representative or online, and can pay with cash, check or even Yen."

Key workers in every unit are working to make 100 percent contact across the 18th Wing to keep the campaign going strong.

"You can make a difference as far away as your hometown or right here at home in Okinawa," said Brig. Gen. Matt Molloy, 18th Wing commander, during a CFC commercial shoot Oct. 15. "Make no mistake, every donation helps - big or small."

This year participants can choose from more than 2,500 charities ranging from youth sports to international aid foundations.

The campaign continues until Nov. 16. Service members can contact their unit CFC representatives for donation packs - including the complete list of charities, or visit http://www.cfcoverseas.org for more information.
