Kadena kicks off Independence Day July 3 Published July 1, 2012 By James Bowman 18th Wing Public Affairs KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 18th Force Support Squadron plans to hold its Independence Day celebration activities on July 3 from 6-9 p.m. at Marek Park. Fireworks are scheduled to follow immediately afterward. A shuttle service will be provided at Chapel One and the Schilling Community Center to the park between 5 and 10:30 p.m. The event is for military members and their dependents with SOFA status. There will be entertainment, games, food, and prizes for the whole family. Local acts like David Ralston and Porky's will be the event's headliners.
