Unit physical training leaders started a new augmentation program today to help the Fitness Assessment Cell administer Air Force fitness tests.

As part of a concerted effort to minimize manpower impact on Kadena units, five PTLs from a designated group will help administer the tests in a monthly rotation starting at the first day each month. According to the FAC staff, the 18th Maintenance Group is the first group in the rotation to send PTLs this month.

"The PTLs [must be] E-4 to E-6 and O-1 to O-3 to [serve as] a PTL augmentee," explained Staff Sgt. Mark Obeng-Duro, FAC NCO in charge. "PTLs must be certified and trained by the Health and Wellness Center to administer tests. They will also attend a one-hour, just-in-time training session on FAC administration and operations one week prior to their rotation start. They will not be testing members from their own units."

Obeng-Duro said PTLs report to the O'Conner gym at 5:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, for the first testing session and will be released once all testing is completed. On average, the PTLs will help the FAC monitor 40 Airmen during each session.
