OHA survey gives voice to military members Published April 4, 2012 By Airman 1st Class Tara A. Williamson 18th Wing Public Affairs KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- This year's Overseas Housing Allowance utility and move-in expenses survey is now available online to all service members living off-base receiving OHA. The OHA survey data will help the Defense Travel Management Office determine the future utility and frequent maintenance allowance received by service members. Responses are limited to one survey per household. Service members living off-base are strongly encouraged to participate in this survey because it affects the amount they receive to offset local expenses and allows their voices to be heard. Everyone responding to the survey should have handy their actual bills or records of utility, such as gas, electric, water and garbage services, and maintenance expenses from the past 12 months, because a monthly average for each expense is made. The survey allows participants to enter in the local currency and will help adjust this year's average currency exchange rate. This confidential survey takes approximately 40 minutes and will be available until April 30. To be connected to the survey, visit https://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/aprutilmiha.cfm.
