The 2011 sticker is red in color and has the number "23" in the middle. Owners will need all original paperwork to include the vehicle title, JCI, PDI, military registration and recycling ticket. Owners can get their 2011 road tax sticker from their insurance company, one of the JSVRO events held at each military installation on the island, or the Okinawa Road Tax office located outside Camp Kinser's Gate 4, next to the land transportation office. For further information on updating your Road Tax sticker, please refer to Camp Foster Joint Services Vehicle Registration Office (JSVRO) at 645-3963/ 7481/ 4299. Displaying a non-current road tax sticker on the windshield of your vehicle is a ticketable offense and not displaying any road tax sticker is also a separate ticketable offense. Vehicles must have current road tax paperwork and the sticker must be physically placed on the top of the front windshield in the center, near the rearview mirror. Kadena Fire Emergency Services numbers As a reminder to Kadena residents, the emergency numbers for Kadena Fire Emergency Services are 911 when dialing form a base phone and 098-934-5911 when dialing from a cell phone. Postal Advisory If for some reason you would like to retrieve your letter mail after deposited in our collection boxes, please contact the Kadena Air Mail Terminal at 634-3266. Filing claims resulting from Typhoon Songda All claims due to Typhoon Songda will be filed electronically through the Air Force Claims Service Center at https://claims.jag.af.mil. Select the "Begin New Other Type Claim" for disaster claims and follow the instructions on the screen. If you have specific questions, please e-mail the claims service center at AFCSC.JA@wpafb.af.mil. If you have private insurance that covers your loss you must first file with your insurance carrier prior to filing a claim with the government. Area Defense Counsel's office closure The Area Defense Counsel's office will be closed June 29-30 as part of a system upgrade/migration. Gate-5 Closure Gate-5 will no longer be open after June 17 due to Kadena Air Base school closure, please plan accordingly. Human Resources Office change hours Non Appropriated Funds Human Resources Office (HRO) has changed their hours of operations. HRO will be open from 8a.m. to 3p.m., Monday thru Friday and will be closed on weekends and holidays. For immediate assistance please call HRO at 634-2330 between 3-4p.m. Urinalysis/Drug Demand Reduction Program Location Change Kadena's Drug Demand Reduction program (DDR) is moving from the current location in the Medical Treatment Facility (Bldg 626) to Building 428 is located on the Southwest corner of Kuter Ave and Rickenbacker Road across the parking lot from the Schilling. This facility already houses the HAWC, WIC, and BIO. They will be up and running at the new location on Monday, 20 June. Please continue to report to Military UA at Bldg 626 through June 16. June 20, all military and/or civilian urinalysis testing will take place at Building 428. All personnel will sign in at Room 115 in Bldg 428 for Urinalysis Testing. Enjoy Summer Reading The Kadena Base Library Summer Reading Program 2011 will start with a kick-off party June 21 from 1-3 p.m. in the Schilling's Ballroom. Register, read and receive incentive prizes while supplies last. CCAF Graduation Rehearsal CCAF Graduation rehearsal will be held June 24 from 9-11 a.m. at the Keystone Theatre. Mental Health Closures The Kadena Mental Health Clinic (to include the Family Advocacy Program and the Alcohol Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program) will be closed all day due to a scheduled power outage June 16. Additionally, the clinic will be closed from 9-11 a.m. June 23 for a squadron function. First Sergeants and commanders may contact the on-call provider if necessary. Anyone who needs to be seen on an emergency walk-in basis during these times/dates should report to Lester USNH Emergency Room. Kadena Law Center Closure Kadena Law Center will close at 3 p.m. June 17 for an official function. Please contact the On-Call JAG via the Command Post at 634-1800 for emergencies. Bldg 59 Power Outage Closure Education, training, and testing services at Kadena Education Building 59 will be closed all day June 16 due to electrical power outage. HAWC Low Back Pain Lunch and Learn Update The HAWC Low Back Pain lunch and learn previously scheduled for June 17 has been re-scheduled for July 22. End of Toll-Free Expressway The pilot program for toll-free usage on the Okinawa Expressway will end June 19. Effective midnight June 20, normal toll fee will be charged for vehicles using the Okinawa Expressway. UPCOMING EVENTS Kadena ADAPT ultimate Frisbee tournament A free ultimate Frisbee tournament open to all SOFA status 18 and over will be held at the Four Corners Softball Field, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be five-on-five, with no limit on how many team members (substitutions) you will have. They're looking for 16 teams for registration. No donations will be accepted. Registration ends June 17 at 4:30 p.m. Games will be 30 minutes long with 15 minute halves. Annual CGOC Golf Tournament The Kadena Company Grade Officers Council is sponsoring a Golf Tournament July 15 at the Banyan Tree Golf Course. The four-man scramble shotgun start time is 7 a.m., with a 6 a.m. show time. Price will be $40 for E1-E4; $45 for E-5 and above; $60 for MLC/IHA. Price includes 18 holes, a golf cart, and lunch. Also, there will be an awards ceremony and drawings for prizes (including a TaylorMade R11 Driver). Proceeds will benefit CGOC mentoring, social, and community activities. Contact Capt. Kadena Chapel's Vacation Bible Kadena Chapel's Vacation Bible School is currently accepting registrations. The program will be held June 20 through June 24 from 9a.m. to 12 p.m. each day at Chapel 3. Space is limited to 100 participants and they will be issued on a first come first serve basis. Children entering kindergarten through 6th grade are eligible. We also are in need of volunteers. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Wired Bean Volunteer The Wired Bean Airmen Ministry Center is need of dedicated Staff and Tech. Sgts. during the week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the month of July. The duty is the from 6-10 p.m. and consists of helping out around the Wired Bean, mentoring, getting schooled on video games by the Airmen, or just hanging out and chatting with them. Kadena High School Football Conditioning The Kadena High School football team is looking for volunteers who can commit to helping high school students complete their summer conditioning camp which lasts from June 20 through August 10. Volunteers would be required to supervise workouts on any two days of their choice from 8:30-11 a.m. Monday-Thursday. This will be a great opportunity for service members to earn volunteer hours, and the coach will write letters for volunteers' military portfolios in appreciation of the help. Volunteers are influential and essential in helping to shape the future for these young athletes.
