If your certificate is lost, you must first contact your Unit Deployment Manager for a copy. If a copy cannot be found or you never received a gas mask fit-test certificate, report to bldg 798 on Wednesdays between 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for fit-testing. MPS LORE Closures All MPS services will be closed during the LORE with three exceptions: Customer Service (in-processing only), Relocations ("Final Out" appointments only), and Awards & Decorations (normal service hours). Thank you for your understanding. Registration for University of Maryland University College University of Maryland University College Asia is now accepting registration for the Summer 2011 session. Face-to-Face classes are from June 6 - July 31, and the online classes are from June 13 - Aug 21. Postal Advisory FREE MAIL INTRA/INTER-THEATER DELIVERY SERVICE - Do you know about the free mail delivery service in the Pacific and in Europe? Postal customers can mail letters and parcels up to 70 pounds free to any APO/FPO in the PACIFIC excluding Hawaii, Guam, and Alaska. Likewise, you can mail letters and parcels up to 70 pounds free to any APO/FPO in Europe as long as the mail does not transit through the CONUS. All you need is a complete to and from mailing address, customs form if applicable, and "MPS" in the upper right hand corner. Remember though, this mail is not insured against loss or damage. If you have questions, please call MSgt Anthony Smith 634-3244. 2011 Road Tax Collection Officials from the Joint Service Vehicle Registration Office will be collecting annual road tax payments at Kadena's Keystone Theater from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., May 9 to 13. All vehicles not de-registered before April 1 must pay the annual road tax. Patrons must bring original copies of their: military registration, 2010 road tax receipt, vehicle title, Japanese compulsory insurance and American insurance. The rates are by license plates series: License plate series 40/400, 50/500, 77/78..................... ¥7,500 License plate series 33/300 (4,500cc & below)............... ¥19,000 License plate series 33/300 (above 4,500cc).................. ¥22,000 License plate series 11/100, 88/800.................................. ¥32,000 Mini-car and motorcycle taxes must be paid between April 1 and May 31 at local city, town, or village offices from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Bring your road tax receipt to the JSVRO at Camp Foster (near the commissary) or a road tax collection site on base to receive the 2011 road tax sticker. Annual CGOC Golf Tournament The Kadena Company Grade Officers Council will be sponsoring a Golf Tournament at the Banyan Tree Golf Course May 13. The four-man scramble shotgun start time is 7 a.m., with a 6 a.m. show time. Price will be $40 for E1-E4; $45 for E-5 and above; $60 for MLC/IHA. Price includes 18 holes, a golf cart, and lunch. Volunteer hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Quilters Needed for Pacific Patchwork Guild Pacific Patchwork Guild is a Kadena based non-profit organization that donates baby quilts to the Camp Lester hospital and Stork's Nest. The group is looking for quilters or people interested in learning. All you need is a sewing machine and a desire to create.
