Due to the recent unfortunate events in Japan following the devastating earthquake and tsunami, the USO rescheduled the USO Service Salute for May 5.

"We hope that this schedule change helps to support our attendees to dedicate more attention to helping the relief efforts near Sendai," said Ms.Robin Miller, the director of the USO in Okinawa.

This year is the 40th Annual USO Service Salute honoring the commitment and dedication of the service men and women in each branches of the Japanese and U.S. services. This richly diverse and long-standing cultural event is held to strengthen the bonds of friendship, family, and camaraderie between the militaries, local businesses, and the governments.

The primary audience at the USO is the military and military family.

"Our thoughts and support go out to any service member, Japanese or American, being sent to aid in the search and recovery efforts. We additionally want to extend our prayers and aid to those suffering at this time," Ms. Miller said.

Ms. Miller added that continued support of our Annual Service Salute is appreciated, and the USO welcomes people's participation for the rescheduled date.
