Kadena to participate in LORE next week

Service members on Kadena will be participating in a local operational readiness exercise next week. In preparation for the exercise, the 18th Wing's exercise officials have released the following information to explain exercise procedures and help exercise participants focus on the LORE and understand their roles.

LORE Objectives
  • Assist the 353rd Special Operations Group operational readiness inspection and continue to integrate 353rd SOG into 18th Wing operations
  • Assess readiness to mobilize, deploy, receive and bed down forces, and generate aircraft in accordance with a Base X scenario
  • Practice employment from garrison and a co-located operating base
  • Practice Ability to Survive and Operate (ATSO) in a conventional and chemical environment
  • Validate Corrective Action Plans and close deficiencies (findings) from previous exercises
How to Prepare
  • Review important documents
    • Air Force Pamphlet 10-100, Airman's Manualo Letters of Instruction
  • Know your role and unit's role in the scenario
    • Where to evacuate to and where to shelter in place
  • Have gear properly marked and inspected
    • Follow AFPAM 10-100 for proper marking and wear of Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) and Chemical Protective Overgarment (CPO)
  • Have bags packed and mobility folders perfect
