The men and women of Kadena Air Base donated a total of $452,744 to charity during the 2010 Combined Federal Campaign, which wrapped up here Dec. 15.

With an average donation of $190.58, Kadena's participation rate was 37 percent this year, which is 8.6 percent higher than the PACAF average. In addition to individual donations, 21 private organizations donated to CFC charities as well.

Capt. Reagan Beaton, Kadena CFC community project officer, said he was impressed with the generosity of Team Kadena throughout the campaign.

"Kadena showed itself to be the most generous base in PACAF this year," Captain Beaton said. "Because of the generosity of Team Kadena, many worthy organizations will be able to continue and people across the globe will benefit."

Senior Master Sgt. Stephanie Baker, Kadena CFC community project officer, said she credits the success of this year's campaign not only to generosity, but also to the hard work and dedication of the unit CFC representatives.

"This was definitely a team effort," Sergeant Baker said. "Nearly 180 volunteers stepped up to be unit reps this year and their hard work and commitment made the campaign a huge success."
