Kadena High School football players were recently featured on ESPN Rise, a website and magazine which informs, inspires and connects high school athletes to help them improve at high school sports and get noticed by collegiate scouts.

Three players, Thomas McDonald, Aaron Ahner and Shariff Coleman, and Coach Sergio Mendoza answered questions during a telephone interview Thursday morning, and an article highlighting their stories and challenges of the military lifestyle appeared on the ESPN website late Thursday night.

The story emerged just in time for Veterans Day and a big game for the players.

The Kadena Panthers will be playing in the DoDEA Pacific Far East Football Championships today against Yokota High School. The game starts at 2 p.m. at the Mike Petty Stadium on Camp Foster.
