Kadena pilot dies at home Published Sept. 13, 2010 By 18th Wing Public Affairs KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- A major assigned to the 909th Air Refueling Squadron died at approximately 9 a.m. Sunday. Major Mike Kallai, a KC-135 Stratotanker pilot, was found unconscious in his home and rushed to Camp Lester Naval Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. "We are all saddened by Mike's death," said Brig. Gen. Ken Wilsbach, 18th Wing commander. "It's always tragic to lose a member of Team Kadena. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family." The incident is currently under investigation.
