COMPACAF issues Independence Day safety message

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The commander of Pacific Air Forces, Gen. Gary L. North, today issued a safety message to all PACAF Airmen reminding them to make smart decisions, be good wingmen and to stay vigilant over the long holiday weekend.

The general highlighted the fact that the Air Force has lost seven Airmen in off-duty mishaps since the "Critical Days of Summer" campaign began. He implored all Airmen to apply sound risk management principles and to intervene if they see their fellow Airmen taking unnecessary risks.
