With one week remaining in the 2010 Air Force Assistance Fund Campaign, Kadena Air Base has already exceeded its fundraising goal by a significant amount.

The base has raised more than $156,000 in just five weeks to benefit the four officially-recognized Air Force charities: The Air Force Aid Society, the Air Force Village Foundation, the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation, and the Air Force Enlisted Village.

Kadena's target goal established at the outset of the campaign was just under $113,000, but Kadena Airmen have opened their hearts and their wallets to surpass that figure. With one week left, campaign organizers are reminding Airmen there is still plenty of time to make a contribution and make a difference.

Contributions may be made via cash, check or payroll deduction. See your unit AFAF representative for more information. To find out more about the organizations that benefit from the AFAF, visit http://www.afassistancefund.org/.
