Kadena mourns loss of Airman Published March 8, 2010 By 18th Wing Public Affairs KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Airman 1st Class Leonard R. Barnes III, a fuels specialist in the 18th Logistics Readiness Squadron, was found deceased Sunday in his on-base dormitory room. The cause of death is currently under investigation. A memorial service for Airman Barnes will be held today at Kadena's base chapel. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of a member of our Air Force," said Col. Lenny Richoux, 18th Wing vice commander. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Airman Barnes as they go through this difficult time." More information will be released as it becomes available.
