Sports day at ATR

Capt. Darin Elgersma, a pilot in the 67th Fighter Squadron, plays soccer against a local children's club team Jan. 30 at Hyakuri Air Base, about 70 miles north of Tokyo. Soccer and basketball games were the focus of the morning, as teams from the surrounding community came to the base to play against and spend time with American Airmen. A 'sporting' good time at Hyakuri

HYAKURI AIR BASE, Japan -- Airmen from Kadena were treated to athletic competition against airmen from the Japan Air Self Defense Force as well as local youth league teams. The sporting events kicked off a day of friendly interaction between American and Japanese Airmen, as well as local citizens who live near the base. Nearly 100 Kadena Airmen and F-15Cs are operating from Hyakuri Air Base, about 70 miles north of Tokyo, for a week as part of an aviation training relocation.
