The Pacific Air Forces Director of Logistics spent Jan. 9-12 assessing the 18th Wing's logistics and maintenance operations.

Responsible for PACAF's $8 billion worth of logistical supplies, equipment, and munitions, Brig. Gen. Brent Baker took time to go through warehouses, corrosion control facilities, maintenance hangars, an engine test facility, PACAF's only Transportation Training facility and Kadena's munitions stockpile.

As a former commander of the 18th Mission Support Group, the general acknowledged the many improvements Kadena has made to reinforce the base as the "Keystone of the Pacific." He took the time to meet with Airmen and congratulate them on their service and thank them for their commitment to logistics excellence.

General Baker also presented Kadena logisticians a strategic roadmap for logistics readiness in a joint environment, going over current and future programs designed to stabilize logistics operations across PACAF.
