Kadena runners beat feet for charity

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- More than 175 people participated in a Combined Federal Campaign 5K fundraiser run at Kadena Dec. 4. The event raised more than $1,200 for this year's campaign, which has been extended until Dec. 15. So far, Team Kadena has raised more than $340,000 for charity.

Top finishers were: Tomas Sanchez with a 16:56 run time in the male category and Yoko Stevens with a 19:27 run time in the female category. Brad Davies, Maj. Alan Payton, 82nd Reconnaissance Squadron, Capt. Emily Newman, 18th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron and Tech. Sgt. Debra Gililland-Swartz, 18th Maintenance Group, were also among the top three finishers in their respective categories.
