Wing commander offers Thanksgiving message to Team Kadena Published Nov. 24, 2009 By Brig. Gen. Ken Wilsbach 18th Wing commander KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and be thankful for our many blessings. This uniquely American holiday is a reminder to us all that we are a free people, part of a country founded on ideals worth fighting for. I am thankful and honored to serve with such incredible military members. Your dedication to duty and your willingness to serve truly reflect the best in our nation. And for our incredible families, I can think of no better time than now to recognize them and give thanks for the remarkable sacrifices that they make every day that enable us to accomplish our mission. As you celebrate with your friends and families, remember your deployed comrades this holiday season who are serving in harm's way. Keep them and their families in your thoughts and make sure they know the Air Force family takes care of its own. I hope you enjoy the weekend and take advantage of some well-deserved time off. Whatever your plans are, please be safe and look out for your wingmen. Thank you for what you do every day to keep our nation safe.
