Students members of the Kadena High School Video Club recently won first place for their entry in the Combined Federal Campaign video contest. The students wrote, directed and acted in their original public service announcement promoting the CFC.

Entries were submitted from Department of Defense Dependent Schools around the world and placed on the web for viewing. Voters were invited to select their favorite video. The Kadena High School students won first place in voting, and their PSA will be aired on the Armed Forces Network worldwide starting in December.

Student co-producer Megan Schweers was very proud of the group's accomplishments.

"I was so happy when I heard that we won! I was jumping up and down and couldn't stop smiling," said Ms. Schweers.

The group put the video together in three days, with the first day devoted to brainstorming and concept, followed by one day of shooting and another of editing.

Malia Jakus, a video instructor at Kadena High School, said, "We'd like to thank everyone who voted. This achievement is quite a resume builder for my advanced video students who will continue to pursue the film/TV career path."
