Vice wing commander to take command in Dover Published Nov. 6, 2008 By 18th Wing Public Affairs 18th Wing Public Affairs KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Col. Manson Morris, 18th Wing vice commander, will soon leave Team Kadena and head back to the United States. He has been selected to take command of the 436th Airlift Wing at Dover Air Force Base, Del. in December. Prior to his arrival at Kadena, Colonel Morris served as commander of the 15th Airlift Squadron at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.; as a military aide to the Vice President at The White House, Washington, D.C.; and executive officer to the commander of the 89th Airlift Wing at Andrews Air Force Base, Md. Colonel Morris is a command pilot with more than 2,900 flight hours under his belt. He has flown more than 75 combat and combat support missions and has participated in operations Southern Watch, Restore Hope, Deny Flight, Allied Force, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Col. Lenny Richoux, currently serving as the chief of the Plans & Strategy Division, HQ USAF, Washington, D.C., will succeed Colonel Morris.
