Fill the Boot raises 24K for KSO
U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. James Hecker, 18th Wing commander, is presented a $24,000 check on Kadena Air Base, Japan, Sept. 15, 2014. The “Fill the Boot” campaign is a fundraiser run by Kadena’s and Futenma’s fire departments to help raise money for the Kadena Special Olympics, which will be held in Nov. 8 on Kadena. KSO is an annual event which is part of the world’s leading program of sports training and athletic competition for people with intellectual disabilities.
