Kadena congratulates new chief selects Published Nov. 18, 2013 By Airman 1st Class Keith James 18th Wing Public Affairs KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The Air Force has selected five Kadena senior master sergeants to receive the top enlisted rank. The Team Kadena chief master sergeant selects are: Senior Master Sgt. Roberto Chacon, Erwin Professional Military Education Center Senior Master Sgt. Robert Miller, 909th Aircraft Maintenance Unit Senior Master Sgt. Daniel Moss, 18th Civil Engineering Squadron Senior Master Sgt. Kenneth Carter, 82nd Reconnaissance Squadron Senior Master Sgt. Michael Stockdale, 320th Special Tactical Squadron Of the 2,023 senior master sergeants eligible for promotion to chief, 400 were selected; a 19.77 percent selection rate, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced Nov.15. Airmen will be able to access their score notices on the virtual military personnel flight and the Air Force Portal. Enlisted promotions are based on weighted factors including time in grade, time in service, enlisted performance reports, medals, skills knowledge tests (for staff through master sergeants) and promotion fitness exams. For senior and chief master sergeants, selection board scores are also included. The average score for those selected was 671.81, with an average time in grade of 3.08 years and time in service of 22.24 years. The average score for enlisted performance reports was 135. The average decorations score was 24.30, and the average promotion fitness exam score was 76.31. The average board score was 388.14. Those selected will be promoted according to their promotion sequence number beginning in January. Selections are tentative until the data verification process is complete, which is no later than 10 days after the promotion release date. Airman will be notified if their selection is in question.
