A U.S. Air Force Airman from the 18th Maintenance Group collects black volcanic sand from the beaches of Iwo To, Japan, formerly known as Iwo Jima, during a tour of the island July 26, 2012. In an effort to further the professional military education of the 18th Wing Airmen, the 18th Wing History Office has begun giving tours of the island periodically. This was the second tour the 18th HO has conducted. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Airman 1st Class Maeson L. Elleman)
