Dental lab, keeping military members, families healthy and happy

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Marie Thomas, 18th Dental Squadron dental lab technician, separates porcelain powders on a glass plaque on Kadena Air Base, Japan, June 11, 2012. Thomas is a dental lab tech from the Base dental lab and is filling in to help with low personnel in the Area Dental Lab. The ADL lab is not the only dental section getting cuts, about one-third of Kadena’s dental clinic dentists will be reassigned this summer. There will be significantly fewer routine appointments available. As a result, family members may receive a routine, general dentistry appointment if it’s available within two days of inquiry between May and September. Family members with urgent or emergent dental needs will still have access to acute care appointments. Call 630-4817 for more information. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Hailey R. Davis)
