Kadena supports commercial aircraft in flight emergency

Staff Sgt. Samuel Owens and Staff Sgt. Kenneth Massey, 733rd Air Mobility Squadron, provide ground services for the Delta Boeing 747 on Kadena Air Base, Japan, June 6, 2012. The Boeing 747 was diverted to Kadena due to an onboard medical emergency. Kadena’s Airmen help provide services like maintenance, refueling and other ground services. Last month, Kadena Airmen assisted two civilian aircraft originally bound for Naha. Kadena is a divert location for Naha airfield and is occasionally used when weather or other situations prevent aircraft from landing at Naha. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Staff Sgt. Jonathan Steffen)
