KSO kicks off events with ice breaker

Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey Ruffenach and Staff Sgt. George Dowling, firefighters representing the 18th Civil Engineer Squadron, present Brig. Gen. Matt Molloy, 18th Wing commander, with a check for over $23,000 for the Kadena Special Olympics at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Aug. 24. The firefighters raised the most amount of funds ever this year from their annual "Fill the Boot" fundraiser for the 12th annual KSO. The event is a one-day sporting and entertainment event with over 1,000 special-needs athletes and artists participating in a day of competition, music and special recognition.
