Kadena goes postal

Staff Sgt. James Wong, a postal specialist with the 18th Communications Squadron, gives post office patrons their long awaited mail at the post office Aug. 17 at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Members of the Kadena post office have been working around the clock since Typhoon Muifa delayed thousands of pieces of mail from getting to the base. They have processed more than 3,805 pieces of Express, Letter-Class, Priority and Space Available mail totaling 83,829.5 lbs since the 60-hour typhoon. "The active duty Airmen and local nationals of the post office strive to process and deliver mail to Team Kadena within 24 hours of receiving mail trucks," said Wong. "The post office receives two to three trucks of mail on a daily basis." (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Sara Csurilla)
