Dragon boat racers ruff up the place

Women of Kadena’s Dragon Boat racing team ruff up the water during practice at Fairchild’s pool, April 5. The team is made up of 32 active duty, civilian and dependent volunteers that take time out to practice for the upcoming Dragon Boat Race May 5 at Naha Port. The Dragon Boat Race is an Okinawan tradition that can be traced back to 13th Century and every year U.S. service members and local Okinawans make up teams of more than 30 to race against each other.
