Okinawa becomes a voluntary destination point for moms-to-be
Pregnant mothers and their families prepare to board a medical bus after arriving on a KC-135 aircraft from Atsuki to Kadena Air Base, March 22. Members of the 18th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron and the 909th Air Refueling Squadron were able to transport nine moms and their families to Okinawa, Japan. This option was an alternative to flying back to the United States which is not advised after 35 weeks of pregnancy.
