Staff Sgt. Jay Steppat, 733rd Air Mobility Squadron electro environmental craftsman and Warner Robins, Ga. native, marshals in a Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson C-17 Globemaster III on the Kadena Air Base flightline, March 17. The C-17 crew from JBER loaded Japan Ground Self Defense Force personnel and equipment into the aircraft to take to mainland Japan for the disaster relief effort. Sergeant Steppat said when he found out about the crews coming through Kadena to assist Japan, he was prepared to do anything he could to help. “You can see all the people working together, just happy to help,” said Sergeant Steppat. “I was glad I found some way to help out, and I’m just glad to be a part of all of it.” (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Maeson L.
