Riding for Special Olympics

Kadena Marina, Okinawa, Japan - Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines along with Japanese citizens on Okinawa join together to increase awareness and raise funds for Special Olympics. Approximately 10 Soldiers along with 140 American and Japanese Harley Davidson bikers participated in the 11 Annual Poker Run on Okinawa. Each rider is given a card at five separate locations on island. The winner is presented with the all the entry fees. The winner then donates the proceeds to Special Olympics. This year the Poker Run raised close to $1,300. The spirit of Special Olympics is foremost one of joy, but also courage, integrity, pride, and respect. It is a spirit of acceptance that transcends social and political boundaries...it is a spirit that inspires us all. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Charles "Chip" Steitz)
