Protecting the innocent

A dozen 18th Security Forces Airmen sweep through the courtyard of Kadena Middle School neutralizing hostile forces during a simulated terrorist attack July 30. The unit participated in Pacific Air Forces' High Risk Response Training to improve law enforcement's ability to rapidly respond to terrorist attacks and hostage situations in places such as base schools. The five-day training culminated with a large scale terrorist attack that pitted the students against their well-prepared instructors. (U.S. Air Force/Staff Sgt. Jason Lake)
