Gen. Raymond Johns, Air Mobility Command commander, greets Staff Sgt. Brittany White, a 733rd Air Mobility Squadron aircraft maintainer, here May 14. General Johns, who is charged with providing rapid, global mobility and sustainment for all U.S. military forces, visited to Kadena coincided with his command’s effort to redirect strategic airlift from Europe through Pacific bases as a result of volcanic ash clouds from Iceland. On the day of his arrival to Kadena, several C-5 Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster aircraft arrived here as part of that effort. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Amanda Grabiec)
