AFCEA presents science award to local teacher

U.S. Army Lt. Col. William J. Deagan, president of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Okinawa Chapter, presents Ms. Jennifer Cooper with a $1,000 scholarship for her selection as the seventh annual Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Award recipient, May 6 at the Kadena Officers’ Club. Ms. Cooper is a science teacher at Lester Middle School. AFCEA International, established in 1946, is a non-profit membership association serving the military, government, industry, and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, information technology, intelligence, and global security.
